Rotating material inlet feeder

REFERENCE PROJECT

Rotating material inlet feeder for a pneumatic ship unloader for low-dust unloading of cement

Customer: Cargoflexx, Netherlands Project: Pneumatic ship unloading of cement, Tanzania
01.

Test

An existing pneumatic ship unloader for cement was to be retrofitted with a rotating material inlet feeder.
02.

Challenge

The material in bulk carriers is compacted by long sea voyages and must be loosened up accordingly for efficient unloading with a pneumatic ship unloader. A pneumatic ship unloader, which works on the suction principle, needs free-flowing material for efficient unloading.
03.

Solution

A rotating inlet feeder was installed above the stationary pick-up pipe of the ship unloader. With the help of a roller slewing bearing and a corresponding hydraulic drive, it generates a rotating movement that breaks up the compacted material and makes it flowable. This allows the ship unloader to suck in the material with relatively little dust and achieve its guaranteed unloading performance.
